Combat

The COMBAT Department is comprised of 3 sections (Radio, Sonar and Radar/ESM) for a total of 16 people (3 Officers, 4 Senior Non-Commissions Members and 9 Junior Non-Commissioned Members).

The Combat Officer is reponsible to the Commanding Officer for the operational readiness of the submarine and is assisted by the Chief of Operations.

The Navigator supervises the Radio (3 Naval Communicators) and Radar/ESM (3 Naval Combat Information Operators) Sections and is repsonsible for all aspects of Navigation and Communications onboard. He is assisted by the Radio Supervisor, the Senior NCIOP and a Navigators Yeoman (1 NCIOP).

The Sonar Officer, also tasked as the Suppy Officer, supervises the Sonar (7 Sonar Operators) and Food Services (2 Cook and and 1 Steward) Sections and is repsonsible for the provision of Acoustic information to the Action Information Organization. He is assisted by the Underwater Controller 1 and the Senior Cook.
